The right role fell on my lap – audit manager joined client

How many years had you been with the firm when you left?

6 years

What job/industry did you leave for?

Construction/Engineering Industry – Private Company that was a client

What was the primary reason you left?

Work life balance and I had previously audited the client and felt the industry and culture would be a good fit for me.

On a scale from 1-10 (10 being the highest) how do you value the experience you gained at the firm?

What do you miss most about the firm?

Everyone I encountered at KPMG was the best of the best. I miss operating within a company who values high performers and demands professionalism at its best.

Do you regret leaving?

I don’t necessarily regret leaving. I think I ended up where I am suppose to be at this point in my life but I certainly miss certain aspects of Big 4 accounting.

Had you stayed, would you have been on the “partner track”?

Good question. If you asked me as a 2nd year, I didn’t know if I would make/stay for manager. 4 years later, there I was, a first year manager. If I took it one day/month/year at a time, I think it would have been a possibility.
