What was the primary reason you left?
A combination of sorts; namely opportunities arising in the marketplace combined with a somewhat less encouraging impression of what the roles/responsibilities of younger partners would be in my home office (or potentially wherever my promotion office would be) in the next 5-10 years
On a scale from 1-10 (10 being the highest) how do you value the experience you gained at the firm?
What do you miss most about the firm?
Equal parts the flexibility and fluidity (at times), particularly, once you reach the Mgr/Sr. Mgr level…and also the camaraderie of working in a large, high-performing office on challenging engagements with a diverse set of individuals and clients.
Do you regret leaving?
I don’t regret leaving, which may be due in large part to the fact that my current experience has many of the same positive characteristics that I valued at the firm.
Had you stayed, would you have been on the “partner track”?
Yes, I would have stayed until making partner…or until they told me it wasn’t in the cards
